A Retreat to Nature in Umalas

Published on April 3rd, 2019

Deep in the heart of Umalas Bali, lies a secret to mind, body, and soul rejuvenation. Tucked in one small part of the Canggu-Kerobokan-Seminyak golden triangle, Blue Karma’s Bali Ethnic Villa is delicately placed to harbor you from the hustle and bustle of the more crowded neighborhoods; a hidden gem for those who are in search of a tranquil paradise. Blue Karma believes that through serenity you will discover the secrets within yourself.

Made up of three villas, Villa Kayu, Villa Kalua, and Villa Ka, this luxury escape offers a whole new, different experience from our other locations. With each villa containing 4 to 5 double suite joglos—traditional Javanese wooden structures—with en-suite bathrooms, a swimming pool, a spacious semi-open lounge, and a fully-functioning kitchen with dining area, Bali Ethnic Villa is a self-sufficient habitat best enjoyed with family, friends, or kindred spirits. Sitting on an 8,400m2 pristine land surrounded by lush vegetation, the three properties are connected to each other with secret passages, making them the perfect place for you to host private events and gatherings, including a yoga retreat. Your Umalas retreat.

Housing up to 26 yogis each, you can book one, two, or all villas for your Umalas retreat. The extensive lounge can be converted to a yoga shala, where you can practice your asanas accompanied by natural sights and sounds. Bask in the sunshine by the pool to reenergize or meditate under the moonlight. We assure you that at the beautiful and peaceful Bali Ethnic Villa, you will find it remarkably easy to relax, day or night.

Mealtime is never a hassle at Bali Ethnic Villa. While you take a journey inside yourself, we can prepare and serve Western and Asian dishes to your liking in the privacy of your villa. Fancy eating out? Umalas Bali is home to several cafés and restaurants that are comparable to those in the neighboring areas. Get your morning boost of croissant and smoothies at Monsieur Spoon, an artisan French bakery around 15 minutes’ walk from the villa, followed by a home-cooked brunch or lunch at the family-friendly Bucu nearby. ROU Coffee is on standby from 7 am to 4 pm for your coffee fix and Tiflis awaits for a one-of-a-kind Georgian cuisine experience in Bali. Pepito Express and several local minimarkets are available for your everyday needs, should you forget to pack something. ‘Umalas’ may literally mean ‘rice fields and forests’ in Balinese, but it sure has all the convenience of a modern town.

Bali Ethnic Villa is strategically located 10 minutes from the shops and the night life of Seminyak; we would be more than happy to help you arrange for an excursion to the other side of the village. Staying in has its own perks, too, as some of our villas are equipped with a reading nook, a private bar, and a media room for your entertainment.

A paradise for conscious travelers with mindfulness for the world, Bali Ethnic Villa is well suited for those who wish to seek a meaningful experience, a longer-lasting connection with nature, and a better understanding of the world. Living side by side with other living things, find yourself being lullabied to sleep by the nocturnal orchestra and woken up by the cheerful cockadoodledoos every day for the length of your stay. To keep ourselves in harmony with the magical surroundings, we do not provide water in single-use plastic bottles and you can refill your water glass whenever you need it. You will return home feeling enlightened and transformed.

Plan your next Umalas retreat with us at our chic and ethical Bali Ethnic Villa in Umalas Bali. Reconnect with yourself, others, and nature at our heavenly setting of the four elements and lush gardens, which is secluded but also surprisingly close to the airport and Bali’s west coast beaches. Discover Blue Karma’s secret to unlock the secrets within yourself. Refresh your soul and let your spirit see things in a brighter light.
